3 cups water
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup barley
1/2 cup rice
Directions:Prep Time: 0 mins Total Time: 1 hr
1. In a medium pot, bring water to a boil.
2. Add all the other ingredients.
3. Lower heat and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally.
“I made this using basmati brown rice and oatmeal and barley. Like other reviewers said mine absorbed the water faster than 45 minutes even though I added some extra water in the beginning. I kept add some water to when I tested to see if it was done or not. Around 30 minutes all of the water was absorbed and everything seemed soft enough to serve. I took the serving suggestions posted for this recipe (soymilk I used vanilla, maple syrup and banannas.) I had also added some cinnamon and nutmeg while it was cooking. It was very good. I also halved the recipe and have some leftover for tomorrows breakfast I guess!”
